Blogging for Cash

The blogging revolution has arrived, and it seems like everyone is blogging about something. Sometimes they blog about specific topics dear to their heart, some use their blogs as a sort of personal journal. Some use their blogs to gripe and complain about things that bug them. And a great many enterprising souls are simply blogging for cash.

What? Cash?

Yes, blogging for cash. Did I get your attention? Good. I’ll bet you want to know how one goes about blogging for cash.

Well, even though there are millions of people blogging, they aren’t all blogging for cash. Of the ones that are blogging for cash, a great many simply don’t know what they are doing, and they aren’t making any money at it…not enough to matter anyway. But you can start blogging for cash – the right way – in just a very few minutes!

First, make a list of topics that interest you a great deal. You are going to be spending a lot of time with this topic, so pick something you at least know a little about and are willing to learn more about, or something that you are an expert on.

With that list, go to http://7search.com/scripts/searchterms/top_paying.asp

to see what the highest paying keywords are. Do any of your topics match any of those keywords? If not, look at those keywords, and try to pick one that you can ‘talk’ about.

You’ll notice that the top paying keywords are mostly about gambling and prescription drugs. In most cases, you don’t want to write about those topics, so keep going down the list until you find something that interests you…something you can write about.

If you don’t find anything on that list that toots your horn, visit Yahoo Search Marketing at http://www.overture.com and use their resources to find high paying keywords, or to find out how popular the topics on your list are.

Writing a blog is much like talking. You simply write just like you talk. A blog is for expressing your views and opinions, or to share your knowledge with others. So you would write it just like you would say it.

Now, you know the big secret about how to blog…that’s how. The only technical thing you need to do is to include your keywords when you write and check for spelling and grammar mistakes before you hit the ‘submit’ or ‘post’ button.

Once you have your topic, it is time to set up a blog. There are countless places online where you can set up a blog for free.

If you have a website, you can set up a blog on your website as well. Check with your web host to see what blogging software they include with your hosting account.

If you don’t have a website – and many successful bloggers don’t – get a blog through a site such as www.blogger.com .

No matter which blogging method you choose, just make sure that you will be able to edit the templates for the blog – in order to add your money making ads. This is very important!

Choose a name for your blog carefully. Use your topic in the title. For instance, if you are blogging about Motorcycling, your blog might be named "Awesome Motorcycle Routes In New York". Make sure your topic keywords are part of the title of your blog.

Now, go find some affiliate programs that fit in with your topic. A good place to start looking is at http://www.cj.com .

After signing up for programs choose text links and banner ads that you can use on your blog. You can use the text links throughout the content of your blog, and use the banners along the borders of the blog pages.

After you’ve made several posts, you are ready to sign up for a Google AdSense account, if you don’t already have one. As long as your blog isn’t on a topic that Google doesn’t like, your blog will most likely be approved.

Edit your template again to include the Google AdSense ads, and make sure that you are using your targeted keywords when you write. Now, you are officially blogging for cash.

You will need to build up a following – or a readership – for your blog. Make sure that each time you make a post to your blog you visit Pingoat at: http://www.pingoat.com and submit your blog.

Also make sure that you list your blogs URL in the search engines, and create a signature file to use when sending out emails, or posting to newsgroups, discussions lists, or forums.
A blog is pretty much promoted just like a website.

It may take some time to build up your readership, but if you keep writing terrific posts, you stay focused on your target market, and you promote your blog as much as possible, you will start realizing a profit. The longer you do it, and the more work you put into it, the more money you will make when you start blogging for cash!
